Knee Flexion
Knee flexion refers to the bending movement that occurs at the knee joint, allowing the leg to move from a straight or extended position to a bent or flexed position. It is the opposite motion of knee extension, which straightens the leg. The normal range of knee flexion varies among individuals but typically ranges from 125 to 135 degrees. However, after surgery, knee flexion becomes very limited. The goal is to restore and improve the range of motion in the knee joint, including flexion. Maintaining good knee flexion is essential for mobility, balance, and overall lower limb function.
